Why would I need to hire an excavator?

There are a lot of reasons. Some of the most common ones include installing a septic system, underground pipes and adding a swimming pool or tennis court. See our list of services for the residential, commercial and specialty work we do. You might be inspired.

How do I know which excavator to choose?

There are three key things to look for when hiring. You’ll want to make sure that your excavator is experienced, licensed and insured. After that, it’s important to find a company with an excellent reputation and a willingness to work with you and listen to your needs.

We’re planning to install a septic system and got three very different estimates for different contractors. Why is there such a big difference in price?

When you get a quote you need to make sure you’re comparing apples to apples. Do all the quotes cover all the services required – including electrical services, hauling in or exporting fill, temporary site access, raking and seeding, etc. Also remember, when you pay a higher price you’re also paying for professionalism, timeliness, neatness, insurance and people power.

Why does it cost so much to install a septic system?

Because there are many parts to the project. In addition to labor and the septic tank itself, there’s sand, stone, the pump, piping, and electrician services.

I need a project completed by a specific date? Can you get it done in time?

It depends. There are a number of factors that can change a project schedule – including our availability, the weather, ground conditions, waiting for permits, etc. At JPM, we never promise something we can’t deliver – but we will do our very best to get your job completed on time.

How long does it take to install a septic system?

Usually five to seven days. But see the answer above for reasons why it could take longer.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes on both counts.

How much does it cost to have an estimate done on my project?

Estimates are free and will be submitted to you in writing.

Can you provide references?

Yes, absolutely. References will be supplied upon request.
